Postpartum doulas provide reassurance and support after your baby comes home, easing the transition and helping new parents feel comfortable and confident with their new baby. Doulas also provide guidance and support in establishing and maintaining a good breastfeeding or bottle feeding experience. The doula also provides practical hands-on help such as meal preparation, light housekeeping, laundry, short errands and sibiling care.
Postpartum doula services include:
Hands-on education on infant and mother care (breastfeeding, bathing, diapering, calming techniques, preparation of formula if bottle feeding), including initializing a routine for baby and family
Creating a nurturing, restful atmosphere in which parents may eat, shower and nap
Introducing parenting tips, helping parents gain the skills they will need to adapt and cope with their new responsibilities
Screening for hurdles such as breastfeeding challenges or postpartum mood disorders
Shopping for groceries and preparing meals
Helping with housework such as light laundry, washing dishes, sweeping floor, etc
Accompanying parents to appointments or on errands
Teaching baby massage techniques
Referrals to alternate care providers should client needs exceed scope of practice
Other duties to be discussed with client at time of contract signing

This package includes 48 or 72 hours of continuous postpartum care and support once your baby is born.
Your postpartum doula will remain with you in your home and offer you guidance, education, meal preparation and the opportunity to recover and SLEEP!
